Malala Yousafzai

An activist for girls’ and women’s rights, Malala Yousafzai has championed access to education since childhood. After speaking publicly against the Taliban’s efforts to prevent girls from attending school, she survived an assassination attempt in 2012 and continued her advocacy on the world stage. At sixteen, she addressed the United Nations, and in 2014, at seventeen, she became the youngest recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. She is also the author of I Am Malala and continues to advocate for girls’ education worldwide through the Malala Fund.
