Risograph poster featuring pen illustration on yellow background showing a swirling vase-like form surrounded by small figures and symbols — a person in a wheelchair, a person writing, a rabbit, stars, and a musical note. A blue banner at the bottom reads "Creativity is Magic. It's not a matter of finding an idea, but allowing an idea to find you." Maya Lin.

Maya Lin

An architect and sculptor, Lin first became known for designing the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., which grew out of a class project during her senior year at Yale—she won the anonymous national design competition at just 21. She later built another memorial for the Civil Rights Movement, and her work has since ranged from buildings to glass sculptures and installations, often referencing nature and the environment. In 2016 she received the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
